Media Literacy on the Web

Part 1: In the Media

  • Feel free to link to any material that you think I would find helpful for the show. Articles can come from the mainstream media, your favorite blog, or your own website. Make sure to leave your name and a link so that I can thank you during the show. Also: If you are not sure if your item belongs in the media section or in the comments section feel free to put it in either and someone will move it for you.

Part 2: Audience Comments

  • Your Name and Your Website: Here you can leave your comments about how assessment effects you, your community, your classroom. This section is for opinion and personal stories so if you are quoting or discussing something you read feel free to put it in section one.

  • I use my iPod in the classroom on a daily basis. I'm a floating art teacher, but all of my rooms have either TVs, LCD projectors, or both. I invested in a 6 ft camcorder cable from Radio Shack (The ones they include with video cameras were too short for my tastes) and now when I can do more than just hold up a printout, poster, or fragile transparency. Today alone I'll be showing National Geographic video podcasts to two classes while I show photos from NASA.gov to the rest, all of which will be reinforcing my visual arts lessons along with the curriculum from other subjects. I know I could do all of this with a laptop as well, but an iPod is more compact, more durable, and more reliable than most computers. There's a reason why Hall Davidson uses it as a backup for his keynote presentations. (Yes, I'm bragging. I can't help it, I'm sorry!) -Aaron

Part 3: Interview

Here you can suggest guests for the show or questions you want to have answered. I will try to get to as many as possible.
